Di is located at Beerwah, South East Queensland. She was born in Victoria and moved to South Australia in 1963 where she qualified as a teacher. She married Brian, also a teacher and in 1985 left teaching to operate a retail nursery. In 1990 they moved to Queensland. Di became interested in U3A through the Sunshine Coast U3A group where she was the Class Administrator before joining U3A Online as Administrator and was elected President in 2007. Born and raised in Edinburgh, Scotland UK, Jean is married to Alex and they have three children Craig, Pauline and Rhea. Jean and Alex moved to Perth twenty years ago. For the past nineteen years Jean has worked for the Western Australian State Government in the Department of Culture and the Arts in various administration roles. It’s been an interesting place to work as the Arts industry is always revolving. Jean also ran, with her daughter Rhea, a business selling cake decorations and cake pans. They sold their products at a market stall and then moved to selling everything online with Rhea running the online business while Jean looks after all the accounting side. Jean’s interests are reading and crafts – her favourite craft just now is scrap booking but this is always changing; last year it was cross stitch. She has also spent the past few years tracing her family tree, it has been very interesting finding different branches of the family in different locations throughout the world and how they found there way there. Jean joined U3A Online when she saw a Genealogy Course and a course about Writing; also it was to become involved with a group of similar age people and to keep her mind healthy. Bev Tapper was born in country New South Wales, but lived in Sydney throughout her school years. Married in 1973, has no children and now lives in Sackville North NSW with her husband John, four dogs and a small flock of ducks. After working as a bookkeeper and office administrator, Bev completed her working life teaching manual bookkeeping at her local Community Centre and Basic Computer use at Mt Druitt TAFE and volunteer Literacy Tutor. Bev is Secretary of the local volunteer Bushfire Brigade. She joined U3A Online in 2002 after retirement to keep her mind active. Her interests are gardening, reading, bird watching and drawing. Born in England, Pauline has lived in Bright, Victoria for almost two years. Except for a period of ten years when she lived in France running a Bed and Breakfast with her husband, most of her married life has been spent in Albany, Western Australia. Pauline currently works part-time as book keeper at The Bright Visitors Centre and the Bright Adult Education. Her interests are varied; she is a Registered Speaker with Toastmasters Australia, concentrating on motivational, life skill talks to seniors, has been a volunteer radio announcer with the Albany Community Radio and organiser of many fund raising community events. She is a keen member of the local U3A and secretary of the Alpine Probus Club of Bright. Pauline still finds time to continue her hobbies of vintage card making and creative writing. Win is located in Coffs Harbour, New South Wales. He retired from legal practice in 1993 and moved to Coffs Harbour where he retained a childhood interest in Astronomy. Win has his own observatory on the mid-north coast of New South Wales and he has conducted courses for U3A Coffs Harbour. Win wrote 'Astronomy', 'The Night Sky' and 'The Northern Sky' for U3A Online which he leads on a regular basis. You can email Win at whoward@tpg.com.au
Allan is located in Highland Park, Queensland. He was born in Bondi, New South Wales. His father was a Civil Engineer and his mother an elocutionist. Allan started a broadcasting career with 2GB in Sydney in 1941 and moved to television in 1967, becoming an Industrial Advocate for the Australian Commercial Television Industry in 1974. He became involved with U3A Online in 1998 as a member of the Project Reference Group, was Secretary/Treasurer from 2001 to 2004 and was then Vice President for twelve months. Jean was born in Yorkshire. She is currently President of U3A Glenorchy in Hobart, Tasmania. She retired at the end of 2008 from the Australian Education Union after four years as State President for Tasmania, after a long career in secondary schools teaching English, Social Science and Special Needs. She had been involved with the AEU (Tas Branch) for many years and had also worked for three years as a Union Field Officer.
She is currently on the Board of COTA as (Council on the Ageing) and President of the Zonta Club of Hobart Derwent and does some casual sub-editing for the State Hansard while parliament is sitting.
She lives with her partner, Colin, a retired journalist and Charlie, their King Charles Cavalier, in Berriedale where they have a great view of MONA (Museum of New and Old Art). She has three adult sons, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren who live there, Victoria and Queensland. After 25 years with IBM Tom retired as Systems Engineer in 1990 and taught website design and setup at Warwickshire College and University of Coventry. Since then he has been active as a 'community worker' principally on making fund-raising videos and setting up websites for charities in the UK and in India.
For eleven years he has edited the U3A Newsletter SIGNPOST, now online, and is Secretary/General of the WorldU3A Online Service website http://worldu3a.org

Dorothy is located in Canberra, Australian Capital Territory. She has been a member of U3A ACT for many years and is a former President. She is a founding Director of U3A Online and has been involved in numerous community education projects and organisations. In 1998 she was named Australian Adult Educator of the Year. Dorothy has served on a number of Australian and ACT Government’ Advisory Councils. She is an author and retired journalist, formerly working in science communication in CSIRO, and in both New Zealand and Papua New Guinea.
Rick is located in Brisbane, Queensland. He started his working life as a Physical Education and General Science teacher in New Zealand and continued his teaching career when he moved to Australia in 1971. Rick’s research has been in lifelong learning and positive ageing. He received an AM for services to education. His life took a turn for the better when he met Maggie in 1982. He started Brisbane U3A in 1986 and was a Founding Director of U3A Online in 1998. Rick was a senior lecturer with Griffith University before retiring in 2006. Anna is located in Gdansk, Poland. She qualified with a Masters in Science in Applied Informatics in the UK (Leicester) and a Ph.D from Gdansk University of Technology where she was a lecturer and professor until 2007.
