A personal observation: this course is quite comprehensive and I would have liked more time to do the reading, research and writing required. Could fortnightly units be an option? Or drawn out into 2 courses? I feel Alistair\\'s critique is invaluable.

I took this course as a tutor at U3A Brisbane over approximately 24 ninety minute sessions with an average of eight students. We all found the course material excellent. It was clearly written and covered the major ideologies in an interesting and comprehensive way. We appreciated having the relevant information presented with the advantages and disadvantages of each ideology, without bias. The links added historical interest, depth and colour to the topic and the people under discussion. Thank you, Alistair for a fabulous, stimulating course.

While not isolated, most adult education classes in my area are at night, which is not for me. Being new to the Internet I had some problems at first but learnt as I went along. Except for the Discussion Board which I did not master, when my contributions did appear it was just a happy accident.

I did not begin with high expectations so I am happy that I achieved the ability to contribute "intelligently" to political discussions in which I am included. Each unit was a challenge but I learned something new every week. It amazes me that when I read or hear on television, something about which I can say, "I know that!"
I found this a very interesting and informative course, excellently presented with clear explanations, pictures, quotes and numerous links. I particularly appreciated Alistair\\'s commentary, advice and referrals - this was very helpful. I would recommend it to anybody who is interested in this subject (and that should be everybody?)
