I found the course very interesting and easy to understand. I had very little prior knowledge of the Renaissance so didn’t feel I had much to contribute to the discussion board, but found postings by others very interesting. I particularly enjoyed the art.

As a self paced course I was able to go back and reabsorb the ideas being presented. I was unable to get to read all the references but, at last, I had the impetus to read ‘The Prince’. I will be more diligent in future courses and may, indeed, do this one again

The Course Leader asks the learner to think about what they are reading rather than accepting out of hand what either is being said or what the learner may have read prior to doing the course. This gives a nice edge to the course and increases involvement.

I have done other courses by myself but I found the Course Leader and the Discussion Board very helpful. Living in rural Victoria, I do not have access to good libraries or bookshops, but I managed to find most things in my books or the web sites suggested by the Course Leader, Christine Stirrup.
