Colette Kinsella

Position:
Committee Member

Colette Kinsella was born in Dublin and lived there until 1981 when she emigrated to Brisbane with her then husband and  teenage son and daughter. She met Phil  in 1985 and they have been living together ever since. Daughter lives in Seattle, while son lives in Perth. The tyranny  of distance will be overcome next March when the family will get together on the Gold Coast.

Colette has been in administration most of her life, in various capacities. She has a B.Admin., a Post-Grad. Dip. In Women’s Studies, a Diploma in Career Guidance and a Cert IV in Workplace training and Assessment. The 20 years she spent in the Federal Public Service to 2005 were good years, working with some wonderful people with whom she still keeps in touch over long lunches! After official retirement, she did some consultancy work, and volunteer work with several organisations.

In her teenage years she was 2nd violin in the Dublin Youth Orchestra and also played the piano. Her musical activities are now confined to listening to CD,s and attending the occasional concert! She enjoys playing Mah Jong every Friday at the ‘Sixty And Better’ club, where she is on the Management Committee. She and Phil like to travel as much as the budget allows and have had several enjoyable holidays in England, Ireland, Seattle, Vancouver, Whistler, Paris, Perth, Queensland and NSW in recent years.
