In this Unit we pursue the origins of poetry and some of the earliest poetry available.

In this unit we look at the poetry of Geoffrey Chaucer and his contribution to English literature. 

In this unit we look at the poetry of the English Renaissance and at four Renaissance poets in detail

In this unit we will look at the Metaphysical poets of the 17th century

In this unit we will look at three of England's greatest poets of the later part of the 17th century -– Milton, Dryden and Pope.

In this unit we will look at the poetry of Byron, Keats, Shelley, Wordsworth and Coleridge.

19th Century Poets -The Victorians - Browning, Tennyson & Hopkins

In this unit we will look at the major poets of the two world wars.

In this unit we will look at poetry in the 20th century.
